How to Play

Build the ultimate NBA all-time team

The objective of 82-0 is to construct a historical NBA roster capable of achieving a perfect undefeated season. Your success is determined by a non-linear simulation engine that evaluates the raw statistical output across five rounds.

1. The Draft

Each round, you receive a random NBA team and decade combination. Select one player from that era to add to your roster. Complete all 5 rounds to fill your starting lineup (PG, SG, SF, PF, C).

2. Statistical Aggregation

Your team is rated on five core metrics: Points (PPG), Rebounds (RPG), Assists (APG), Steals (SPG), and Blocks (BPG). The engine evaluates each player's peak performance within their assigned decade. Era-adjusted so 1960s legends keep value vs modern pace.

3. The 82-Game Simulation

Once the draft is finalized, the engine runs your aggregate stats through a win-projection curve. To reach 82-0, you must maximize cumulative output across all five categories at once — penalties kick in if any stat dips below Contender thresholds. Your results screen shows the full 82-game log game-by-game, your longest win streak, and each player's stat line projected across a full season. Finish with 42+ wins and you make the playoffs — a simulated best-of-7 bracket through the Conference Finals and NBA Finals, tougher at every round.

4. Game Modes

Classic: Full stats visible — make informed picks.
HoopIQ: Stats hidden — draft from memory and basketball IQ.
🎲 Random Draft: No picking — each round auto-assigns a random eligible player from whatever the wheel gives you, so you can land role players instead of always getting the best name available. Its own button on the home screen; not part of Daily/Weekly/Challenge or the leaderboard since there's no drafting skill in it.
Eras: Same players and picks as Classic, but each era scores them by a different style of basketball: Steph Curry Era (shooting and playmaking), Jordan Era (scoring and perimeter defense), 1960s Celtics (rebounding and defense), and Showtime Lakers (passing and versatility). Each era has its own win curve, so a player who thrives in one era may fall short in another. Casual, like Random Draft: no stats, challenges, or leaderboard.

5. Daily & Weekly Challenges, Streaks

Everyone gets the same 5 spins each day, plus a separate Weekly Challenge that resets every Monday. Beat the daily board and keep your 🔥 streak alive. Wins, best record and average are saved locally; streaks reward returning daily.

6. Achievements, Trophy Case & Sharing

Unlock badges (Rookie, 70+ Historic, HoopIQ Pro, Hot Streak, Weekly Winner, and more) and beat your own best record, streak, or HoopIQ accuracy for a special personal-best celebration. Your Trophy Case shows your rank, every achievement, and cosmetic accent colors unlocked as you climb the ranks. Share a one-tap card with your record, roster and streak — Web Share or one-click copy + downloadable PNG for X/TikTok.

7. Challenge a Friend

Finished a game you're proud of? Tap Challenge a Friend on the results screen to get a link. Your friend plays the exact same draw in the same mode, then sees a head-to-head against your record. Challenge games don't count toward the Daily leaderboard, and scores in links are self-reported — it's for bragging rights.
