At 82-0, accessible from https://82-0.co.za, one of our main priorities is the privacy of our visitors. 82-0 has no accounts, no login, and no ads — this policy explains exactly what little data the game does handle.
1. Information We Collect
There is no sign-up and we never collect your email address or any account credentials. The only information involved is:
- Local game data (stays on your device): games played, best record, current streak, unlocked achievements, and your sound/music/theme preferences are saved in your browser's local storage. This never leaves your device and we never see it.
- Daily Leaderboard data (if you choose to post a score): if you play the Daily Challenge and opt to submit your score, we store the display name you type (up to 20 characters), your win total, the game mode, the date, and a randomly generated client ID that your browser creates and stores locally to identify your own entries. This ID is not tied to your name, email, or any other personal information, and the leaderboard is publicly viewable by anyone. Please don't enter your real name or any personal information as your display name.
- Friend challenge links (if you create one): when you tap "Challenge a Friend", the game builds a link that contains that game's random seed, its mode, your win total, and the optional name you type. That information lives only in the link you choose to share — we don't store it on our servers or tie it to an account. As with any page request, the link's address may appear in our web server logs when someone opens it, and your friend will see the name and score you put in it, so please don't enter personal information as your name.
- Standard server logs: like most websites, our hosting provider's web server automatically logs basic request data (IP address, browser type, date/time, pages requested) for security and operational purposes. These are not linked to any personally identifiable information.
2. How We Use This Information
We use the information above only to:
- Run the Daily Challenge leaderboard.
- Remember your stats, streaks, achievements and preferences between visits.
- Keep the site secure and diagnose technical problems.
We do not sell, rent, or share this information with advertisers, and we do not run any advertising or ad-tracking on this site.
3. Cookies and Local Storage
82-0 does not use tracking cookies. The game uses your browser's local storage (and, for the player database, IndexedDB) purely to save your in-game progress and preferences on your own device, so they're still there next time you visit. You can clear this at any time through your browser's settings, which will reset your local stats.
4. Advertising
82-0 does not run any ads and does not use Google AdSense, DoubleClick, or any other ad-tech vendor. If that ever changes, this policy will be updated first.
5. Third-Party Infrastructure
We use a small number of third-party services to run 82-0:
- Hosting: The site is served as static files from an Oracle Cloud server (via the Caddy web server).
- Daily leaderboard database: Leaderboard entries (display name, wins, mode, date, and anonymous client ID — see Section 1) are stored in a Supabase-hosted Postgres database. No accounts or authentication are involved.
6. Data Protection Rights (GDPR/CCPA)
We want to ensure you are fully aware of your data protection rights:
- The right to access: You can request a copy of any leaderboard entry associated with your display name.
- The right to rectification: You can ask us to correct a leaderboard entry.
- The right to erasure: You can ask us to delete a leaderboard entry, or clear your own local game data at any time via your browser settings.
- The right to object to processing: You can ask us to stop processing data tied to a leaderboard entry.

7. Children's Information
82-0 has no account system and does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has included personal information in a Daily Leaderboard display name, please contact us and we will remove it promptly.
